TRAUMOTO SAVE STORIES
Shotgun Shooting in Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom (TRAUMOTO SAVE #13)
We are grateful to those involved for allowing this case to be shared. The responder has specifically requested to remain anonymous, and identifying details have been omitted due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.
This incident occurred during the early morning hours of May 31, 2026 in Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom.
At approximately 1:30 AM, an assailant fired multiple shotgun blasts into a residence. A male victim inside the home sustained multiple gunshot wounds and significant blood loss.
A nearby resident heard the gunfire and immediately recognized the seriousness of the situation. After ensuring the immediate threat had left the area, he grabbed his trauma kit and rushed to assist.
Upon arriving, he found the front door inaccessible. A window had been damaged during the shooting, allowing him to enter the residence through the opening.
As he climbed inside, he immediately slipped and fell into a large pool of blood.
The victim was located inside the residence suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The first wound identified was to the abdomen. The responder immediately began packing the wound with gauze and applying direct pressure.
While continuing treatment, a second wound was identified in the upper right leg near the groin. The responder packed the wound with gauze and attempted to control the bleeding with direct pressure.
According to the responder:
"Even with pressure and packed full of gauze, it was like pissing down my arm."
Recognizing the severity of the hemorrhage, a tourniquet was applied above the wound. The bleeding from the leg was significantly reduced, allowing the responder to continue treating the victim's other injuries.
Law enforcement arrived and gained access to the residence. As additional responders entered the scene, another serious injury was discovered.
The victim's lower left leg was saturated in blood from a third gunshot wound that had not initially been identified.
Additional gauze was obtained and the responder immediately returned to patient care, packing the wound and applying direct pressure until paramedics were able to take over treatment.
The victim remained without advanced medical care for approximately 22 minutes.
The responder reported that blood was present throughout much of the residence, extending from the hallway toward the rear of the home. Hospital staff later advised that the victim had lost several liters of blood.
The victim was transported to the hospital where he was placed into a medically induced coma due to the extent of his injuries and blood loss.
At the time this report was submitted, the victim was reported to be stable.
TRAUMOTO IMPACT
This incident represents one of the most complex and challenging saves reported to date.
The responder was alone with the victim for the majority of the event and was required to manage multiple life-threatening wounds simultaneously.
As described by the responder:
"Without this kit I would have had to hold pressure on all three wounds. I was alone for the full 22 minutes. This would not have been possible."
"The tourniquet allowed me to focus on the rest of the body and keep him alive."
Hospital staff later advised that without the tourniquet, the victim would likely have bled to death. The responder was also informed that without rapid wound packing and hemorrhage control, the victim likely would not have survived.
REFLECTION
When asked what was going through his mind during the incident, the responder's answer was simple:
"All I was thinking was, I have to save him."
Despite being credited with saving the victim's life, the responder requested no public recognition and asked to remain completely anonymous.
His only request was that others understand the importance of being prepared.
As he stated:
"Don't ride without your kit."
FINAL NOTE
This save highlights a reality that many people never consider.
Trauma kits are often purchased with the hope they will never be needed.
In this case, a kit carried for over a year was suddenly called upon during a life-threatening emergency involving multiple gunshot wounds and severe blood loss.
Preparedness alone did not save this life.
A willing responder, proper equipment, and the ability to act under pressure did.
Today, the victim is alive.
Rider Crash in Northern Utah (TRAUMOTO SAVE # 12)
We are grateful to those involved for allowing this case to be shared. The rider and those involved have chosen to remain anonymous.
This incident occurred on March 29, 2026 in Northern Utah. A group of riders was heading up a canyon at approximately 70 mph when one rider attempted to take a corner too fast, resulting in a lowside crash. The rider slid into and along a guardrail.
A bystander within the group arrived shortly after the crash. At the time, others were attempting to control bleeding using a torn shirt and debris from the scene, but were struggling to manage it effectively.
Upon arrival, significant bleeding was identified from a deep laceration on the inside of the rider’s right foot. Gloves were donned and treatment began.
Using a Traumoto Pro kit, all available gauze and bandaging were used to control the hemorrhage. A tourniquet was prepared as a backup if bleeding could not be controlled, but ultimately was not required.
EMS arrived approximately 5 minutes after treatment began, with total response time estimated around 7 to 8 minutes.
After EMS took over, the rider was transported to the hospital and underwent surgery. The injury included multiple fractures and a lacerated artery in the foot. The rider has since returned home and is currently recovering.
TRAUMOTO IMPACT
In this situation, having the kit made immediate bleeding control possible.
Before proper supplies were used, responders were limited to improvised materials. With the kit available, treatment became more efficient and controlled.
As described by the responder:
“The kit not only made treating the injuries more accessible, but also more efficient. I knew what I had and I didn’t need to waste time.”
“Something is always better than nothing, and having the kit beforehand gave me the willpower and opportunity to learn what I could do just in case that time came.”
“I definitely feel had things been worse he would not have made it especially if a kit hadn’t been present.”
REFLECTION
The responder focused on working through the situation step by step, even while dealing with uncertainty.
“I was honestly just thinking of what I needed to do next.”
“I was mostly questioning if what I was doing was right… if I was helping him or hurting him. But I was determined to at least try.”
Following the incident, additional training was pursued to build confidence moving forward.
“For those who carry it, practice. Maybe even get formal training… it will help silence that self doubt.”
FINAL NOTE
Carrying a kit is one part. Knowing how to use it is what completes it.
Situations like this reinforce the importance of both.

Situations like this reinforce the importance of both.
Rider Saves Best Friend With Traumoto Kit (TRAUMOTO SAVE #10)
SEE VIDEO HERE (WARNING GRAPHIC)
We are grateful to those involved to have permission to present this case of a motorcyclist’s life saved by the victim’s friends, bystanders, and the use of a Traumoto kit.
This incident occurred on October 20, 2025. The injured rider collided with the curb and then a fire hydrant. In addition to the amputation of his leg, this rider suffered multiple pelvic fractures resulting in a dangerous unstable pelvis condition and external bleeding. The rider also had a ruptured spleen and damage to a lung.
The rider’s best friend @venmrider04 who gave me permission to identify, leaped into action within seconds of the accident. Throwing his bike and helmet, he rushed to the scene with his Traumoto Pro kit on his hip. He quickly applied the CAT GEN 7 Tourniquet. After the bleeding ceased from the leg wound, a woman in a blue shirt arrives at the scene. I was informed this woman is a practicing OBGYN that then asked what else was in the Traumoto kit. Upon finding the shears in the kit, she removed the victim’s clothing to find a massive trauma to the left side of the groin and pelvis area. She then used various other items from the Traumoto kit including gauze and the emergency trauma bandage to stop the hemorrhage in the groin.
EMS then arrived and transported the rider to the trauma hospital.
I have been informed that after multiple surgeries including further amputation and pelvic reconstruction, the rider is alive, recovering, and is in stable condition.
The fire battalion chief apparently was informed of the incident and listened in to the 911 call made by @venmrider04 . He applauded his calmness and thorough care at the scene including stating the time of the tourniquet placement.
I have also received an incredibly kind statement from the victim’s father on the Traumoto Instagram account.
I’m incredibly grateful to not only the victim, the family, and all others involved for letting us use this video to help spread awareness for motorcycle safety, preparedness, and the importance of carrying gear like a Traumoto kit. It can truly be the difference of life and death.
