Pressure Where It Counts. Hands Free.

When someone is bleeding, holding firm pressure is the first thing that matters, and it's also the hardest thing to keep doing while you call for help, treat a second injury, or move to safety. The POW (Pressure on Wounds) Pressure Wrap solves that. Its built in pressure dome sits directly over the wound and delivers focused compression once wrapped, freeing your hands for everything else the moment demands.

What Is the POW Pressure on Wounds Wrap?

POW stands for Pressure on Wounds. It looks like a familiar elastic bandage, but it has a firm 2" pressure dome built into the wrap. Instead of spreading pressure across the whole bandage, the dome concentrates it right where the bleeding is.

How It Works

  1. Call 911 for serious bleeding.
  2. Place a dressing over the wound.
  3. Position the POW dome directly over the wound.
  4. Secure the starting end, keep the dome over the wound, then wrap around and secure the wrap. Adjust tension so it holds firm without cutting off circulation.
  5. Check below the wrap for circulation and watch for bleeding coming through.

If blood soaks through, the Red Cross advises leaving the original dressing in place rather than removing it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does POW stand for?

Pressure on Wounds. POW is the brand; this product is the POW Pressure Wrap.

How is POW different from a regular elastic bandage?

A regular elastic bandage spreads pressure across its whole width. The POW wrap has a built in 2" dome that focuses pressure directly over the wound.

Does a pressure wrap replace a tourniquet?

No. For life threatening bleeding from an arm or leg, Red Cross guidance is to use a tourniquet if you are trained. A pressure wrap helps you hold steady pressure over a dressed wound. Many riders carry both.

Do I need training to use it?

It is designed to be simple, but training makes anyone faster and calmer. A Stop the Bleed or Red Cross first aid class is a great place to start.
