6" Emergency Trauma Dressing (PRO) or 4" Compression Dressing (LITE)

Introduction


The Emergency Trauma Dressing (ETD), sometimes referred to as a pressure dressing, combines an absorbent pad with an elastic wrap to help secure a wound dressing in place.


Depending on your Traumoto kit, you may have a 4-inch or 6-inch Emergency Trauma Dressing or basic compression dressing.


Purpose


The Emergency Trauma Dressing is designed to:


  • Cover wounds.
  • Help secure gauze and other wound dressings.
  • Provide compression when wrapped according to the manufacturer's instructions.


Basic Operation


  1. Inspect the package for damage before opening.
  2. Tear open the sterile packaging.
  3. Remove the dressing.
  4. Place the absorbent pad over the affected area.
  5. Wrap the elastic bandage around the injury.
  6. Secure the end of the dressing using the built-in closure device.
